The city of Kre\u0161imir is full of people seeking salvation from the heat. In the hours when the sun is merciless everyone is hidden in the shade. Ice drinks are drunk so quickly that the ice in them does not melt. <\/span>
\n<\/span>The sea level must have risen a few centimeters because of all the tourists who occupied the surrounding beaches. \u0160ibenik is not a big city, but that does not mean that it is easy (or possible) to find complete peace in it. We know that you have come to rest in our stone city, but we also know that with all the shushur this is often not possible. At least not in the center of town.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Behind the entrance to The Falconry Center are hidden various secrets.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Most of you will be discovered by top experts. <\/span>
\n<\/span>The team of this Falconry center consists of 7 people who have dedicated their lives to birds of prey. A veterinarian, two falconers, a breeder and a forensic chemist led by the head and president have brought the center to an extremely high level. A sufficient indication of this is the presence of experts who came from abroad just to be part of this story.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>What do these experts do?<\/h3>\n

They study, grow, heal, feed, and most of all love.<\/span><\/p>\n

They use their knowledge to provide their birds with ideal conditions for growth, development or return to the wild. Many wild birds come to recover in Dubrava. They are later released so that they can continue to rule the skies around Kre\u0161imir's town.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Many birds have been bred in this very center and have been with humans all their lives. This may sound a little cruel to you, but you have to understand the importance of this (and similar) centers.<\/span>
\n<\/span>It is cruel what men do to nature, and so also to her rulers of heaven \u2013 <\/span>birds of prey<\/span><\/a>. <\/span>

It is the cultivation in controlled conditions that ensures their survival. But Dubrava went a step further. Their determination and love for birds prompted a project called <\/span>\u201c<\/span>DNA bird bank\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/a>. <\/span><\/i>In The Falconry Centre Dubrava, the DNA of birds of Prey is kept so that genetic diversity can be monitored. This blood bank is invaluable because many scientists use it and will use it in the future to learn more about magnificent feathered animals.<\/span><\/p>\n

What does Sokolarski centar Dubrava offer to visitors?<\/span><\/h2>\n

This place is different from the place you usually go to to watch animals. Dubrava is not a space full of cages in which birds look with regret at the sky that they will never fly again.<\/strong> Dubrava is here primarily for the birds, and only then for the people.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n


\n<\/span>You need to know that the birds within the center are divided into three groups. You will not be able to see two of these groups, but do not be sad, there are good reasons for this.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first group are <\/span>wild birds. <\/b>These birds are being treated and are not used to humans, so any contact could upset them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The second group, which can also not be seen, are <\/span>breeding birds. <\/b>These birds were born in <\/span>Sokolarski Center<\/span><\/a> and they're in contact with humans, but they're there to reproduce. Birds of prey value their intimacy, so ornithologists protect them from prying eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our future generations will be grateful to these birds when they lie in a meadow, and above their heads the descendants of birds from Dubrava will circulate.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Falconry<\/p>\n

The third group is here so that all visitors have the opportunity to see perfectly adapted predators in action. These birds are also bred, but trained to take your breath away. <\/span>
\n<\/span>Sokolari Stipe Klisovi\u0107 and Josip Petrina <\/span>they train owls, falcons, eagles and Hawks.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You'll be able to watch them from a decent distance while the falconers hold them in their hands. If I look at these creatures don't take your spirit sky under the clouds their flight surely will.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I will never forget the grace with which birds steam the air even though it has already been more than 10 years since my visit to Dubrava.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Another memory that I have carefully kept since that day is the owl feather that I bought during a visit to The Falconry Center.<\/span><\/i>. <\/span>Dubrava has the largest ornithological collection in this region<\/b> which consists of feathers and skeletons of birds of prey.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You can buy feathers at affordable prices, and you can only admire skeletons. <\/span><\/p>\n
