The Magic Chicola is beautiful <\/span>Krka River tributary<\/b>, and the largest, 48 Meters in length. The source of \u010cikola consists of two ponds near the village of \u010cavoglave in Dalmatian Zagora, and its flow leads through the idyllic Petrovo polje and city of Drni\u0161<\/a>. The canyon of \u010cikola, that is, the part behind Drni\u0161, is known for its <\/span>Rapids, harshness and steep slopes<\/b> thanks to which the river got its name (in Turkish means \u201cwater through the cliffs\u201d). Her Canyon therefore contrasts with the nearby soothing Mose\u0107 mountains, Promina and Svilaja. The lower part of the river, as it flows into KRK, belongs (rightfully) to the National Park \u201cKrka\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The confluence of the \u010cikola and Krka Rivers is one of the most unusual in Croatia!<\/b> They are divided by the island of Kali\u010dki busen and\u201d Lake " Torak (actually a spring-like Lake). The oddities of the scene are contributed by the imbalance between these two rivers \u2013 the Krka on the one hand, which is intruded, and the full 3 kilometers of \u010cikola, which are submerged by the rise of the travertine barrier of Skradinski Buk.<\/span><\/p>\n

What can I see around Chicola?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Natural beauty of the Canyon, Lake Visovac and Lake Torak<\/span><\/h3>\n

Due to the diversity of flora (mainly oak and grabovina) and fauna (wildebeest and other birds of aquatic habitat), several underwater caves (which can be easily entered in summer when the river partially dries up), and also the rich historical heritage, \u010cikola Canyon gained the status of a protected area in 1965.<\/span><\/p>\n

The canyon is 14 km long and 170 m deep in places. It terminates 3 km from the intruded part of the river, that is 6 km before the mouth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Uz <\/span>natural beauty<\/b>, Chicole Canyon is known for <\/span>zipline<\/i><\/b> which ranges from 30 to 120 m above sea level and <\/span>total length 1.4 km<\/b>which makes it one of the longest <\/span>zipline<\/span><\/i>- e in Croatia! Adrenaline lovers can choose between three <\/span>zipline <\/span><\/i>lengths of 250, 500 and 650 meters that can be driven on steel rope <\/span>speed up to 70 km \/ h<\/b>! Of course, driving <\/span>zipline<\/span><\/i>- om includes training by instructors and verified equipment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two lakes, each specific in their own way, "frame" Chicola. At the very mouth is found <\/span>jezersko vrelo Torak<\/b> diameter 150 m and depth 30 m. This natural phenomenon leaves breathless, and the unique plant world that surrounds it contributes to the atmosphere.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other side of the Chico is <\/span>Visova\u010dko Lake<\/b> - the largest and the second largest lake in Dalmatia. This planted Lake is actually located on the Krka River and attracts nature lovers <\/span>the fairytale Island Visovac and two waterfalls<\/b> - Ro\u0161ki waterfall on the north side and Skradinski Buk on the southwest.<\/span><\/p>\n

Historical heritage<\/span><\/h2>\n

Those who love history will be interested in the island of Visovac because <\/span>17th church. the Franciscan monastery<\/b> which keeps a collection of valuable books and more art.<\/span><\/p>\n

You will surely like it. <\/span>caves where stone tools from the younger Stone Age were found<\/b> te <\/span>ruins of the former City of klju\u010d and Fortress Klju\u010dica <\/b>it is considered one of the best preserved fortifications of the 14th century. centuries in Croatia, and certainly the largest and best preserved medieval fortifications within Krka National Park<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most of these beauties can be viewed with <\/span>the newly built lookout<\/b> on the Right Bank of \u010cikola along the road leading from \u0160ibenik to Pakovo Selo.<\/span><\/p>\n

How to get to these beauties?<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Canyon is easy to reach because <\/span>only 10 km away from Drni\u0161<\/b> County Road Klju\u010d-Pakovo selo.<\/span><\/p>\n

The nearby village of Gori\u0161 can be reached <\/span>by car<\/b>from where you can go further <\/span>on foot<\/b>. Those who enjoy walking can enjoy <\/span>gori\u0161-Torak-Torak lookout<\/b> (almost 3 km long) which branches into two smaller paths: the folk-hiking trail Gori\u0161 \u2013 vidikovac Torak (1.5 km leading to the viewpoint) and the hiking trail Gori\u0161 \u2013 Torak (1.45 km) which descends to Lake Torak.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you don't have a car to drive, there is always an option. <\/span>taxi<\/b>. We suggest the use of <\/span>Taxi \u0160ibenik <\/b><\/a>due to its proximity (from \u0160ibenik to Gori\u0161 it is only a 20-minute drive) and service. Taxi Sibenik<\/a> it can take you wherever you need to be inside and around. \u0160ibenik<\/a>you can't just walk through the canyon, but you can <\/span>zipline<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n
